Frequently Asked Questions

Can I register online?

Yes, online registration begins April 15, 2017. There is a link on the Home page that says Buy Tickets.

 

Can I purchase and register for classes online?

Yes, class registration will begin April 15. You will receive a link to follow to sign up for classes in your conformation email.

Do I have to stay at the hotel to participate in the Convention?

No! There are some other hotels in the area that you can stay in, BUT we do have an awesome group rate and super fun pop up events you don't want to miss! 

​

Are lots of restaurants around for when meals aren't provided?

Yes! The Mobile area has tons of local restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the hotel! We will provide maps in your registration package.

 

Will there be contests I can enter?  Is there a fee to enter?

Yes, there will be contests at the conference. Some will require a fee to enter. Some will not.

We are putting together prize packages you will really enjoy. 

 

Can you help me find a roommate for the conference?

We will be glad to maintain a list of people who are looking for a hotel roommate.

Please let us know on your registration form, if you are interested in being on this list. 

 

How is the best way to get from the airport to the hotel?

There are multiple ways to get from the airport, 

  • Mobile Bay Transportation; fee: 40 USD (one way) ;reservation required

  • Estimated taxi fare: 46 USD  (one way)

  • Convention Mini Shuttle

 

What is your cancellation policy?

We are sorry that we cannot accommodate cancellations at this time, but your ticket is transferable. 

 

Can I attend for just one day?

We do not have single day entries to the conference but we offer a tiered registration. 

 

Do I have to attend classes?

No, classes are optional purchases.

Will I need cash or other means of money with me?

It is always a great idea to bring some cash with you! The Crazy Crafters staff will have card readers available but, some of our Vendors at our Trade Show may not. 

 

What should I bring with me?

  1. Yourself

  2. Your friends

  3. Cricut (it is flyer friendly in your luggage) 

  4. Laptop/iPad (or Both)

  5. A replacement blade for your Cricut

  6. Mats.  We suggest bringing all three types since we will be doing a variety of crafting

  7. Your essential tools (Scraper, spatula, weeding tool, exacto knife, scissors, etc.)  If flying, please pack these in your checked luggage

  8. Limited supplies (If you are flying please refer to the TSA for what items would be acceptable to bring) Please don't bring your entire craft room! We will have supplies available for purchase and community supplies. 

  9. A name badge for the name badge contest

  10. Items to enter in our contests!

  11. Your username and password for Cricut access is you subscribe

  12.  Clothes!  Please don't forget to leave room in your suitcase for those in between all those supplies!

  13. A positive attitude and your learning shoes! 

 

What if I am flying with my Cricut?

You can fly with your Cricut in your carry on, BUT you must remove the blade and put that in checked luggage. If you are not bringing checked luggage we will have blades provided to use.

What do I tell the TSA if they ask what a Cricut is?

Most officers are understanding if you just explain. We suggest removing your blade and checking it on your luggage or get one at the convention.  The Cricut is a printer like machine that can make decals, cards and other exciting projects! It does not contain an internal power source. If they have any concerns you can have them call their supervisor.

What is the recommended attire for the conference?

Wear something comfortable so you can easily craft and great shoes for sure. 

​

I am new to all this.  Will there be help available setting up my machine for the first time?

If you need help setting up your machine for the first time, please let us know at registration and we will get a coordinator to help you.  Please do not wait until class to raise this concern as it will cause delays for others who are ready to work during the allotted class period.  Coordinators will be available in classrooms to help with other types of problems that occur.

 

Can you handle special dietary requirements?

Yes!

 

Is there an early bird registration for the conference?

Yes, register for the conference before May 1st and save $

 

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Will there be things for my spouse and kids to do?

Yes! Mobile has lots of exciting things to do! We will also be offering a Crafting with Kids class and Crafting with Husbands class

 

Is there an additional charge for the Kids or Husbands class?

No! A normal class credit will cover the cost of the class!
