Cricut Explore 101 (Laptop Only Class) with Maymay Helms

Class Description: This class is for novice or new Cricut owners.  We will take a beginner's approach to Design Space and basic Cricut functions.  We will use as many of the Design Space functions as we can in the 2 hours provided and you will leave confident that you can take the skills you learn and make many projects on your own.  You will create a paper project during the class to take home with you.

You will need to bring your Cricut Explore, Explore Air, Explore Air 2, or Explore One machine, your laptop, Wireless Adapter if needed for your Cricut, USB Cords, Power cords for your Cricut and laptop, Cutting mat, and the sign on information for Cricut Access is you have it.

Beginning Inkscape with Troy Young 2 Hours

Class Description: During this class, you will learn the basics of Inkscape, how to navigate, and use it to create some custom SVG files using fonts, shapes and basic tracing.  You will also learn to avoid common pitfalls, how to use commands that align with Design Space commands, and how to create designs for cutting with the Cricut Explore

Supplies Needed:

  1. Laptop running Windows 7 or above or Mac laptop.  

  2. Mouse - A mouse is strongly recommended for this class.

Design Space 3 with Troy Young 1 Hour

Class Description: Learn about what is new in Design Space.  This will include what is different,  what is better and any known issues.  We will also be discussing the basic commands of Design Space and how to properly use commands such Slice, Weld, Attach, Group, and more.

Supplies Needed:

  1. Laptop running Windows 7 or above or Mac with OS meeting DS3 requirements.  

  2. Mouse - A mouse is strongly recommended for this class.

Intermediate Inkscape with Troy Young 1 Hour

Class Description: Learn how to trace images, create layered files from JPG/PNG files, clean up images and prepare existing files for use in Design Space.  Troy will also discuss the pitfalls of what you can run into buying SVG files from ETSY or other sources and the dangers of searching for free SVG files.

Supplies Needed:

  1. Laptop running Windows 7 or above or Mac laptop.  

  2. Mouse - A mouse is strongly recommended for this class.

Silhouette Tracing 101 with Ashley

Class Description: If you have a Silhouette, you definitely need to learn how to trace. In this class, you will learn the basic and advanced skills to pull items off the internet or from a file, in order to fulfill your design needs.  You will learn how to trace, use the filters, and grab a clean image to cut.

Silhouette Curve Your Words with Ashley Chauvin

Class Description: Curved words are really popular, but not always easy. You will learn many tips and tricks on how to curve and shape your words using the Silhouette program.  Shaping your words in different formations around objects of placement will be shown.

Larger Than The Mat with Ashley Chauvin

Class Description: Larger than mat projects are extremely popular. But they are not always easy to figure out on your own.  In this class, you will learn how to create a project that is larger than the mat that is provided.  You will be creating a life size wall art to be hung in a New Orleans classroom to motivate this year's upcoming students.

Cricut Layering with Ashley Chauvin

Class Description: Once you learn the basics, you will want to move on to layering. In this class, you will learn the basics in layering/offset and how to use multiple colors on top of each other as well as a full background with wording and pictures.

Mug Etching with Sheryll Kidder

Class Description. Create a vinyl templet to be used to etch your very own design onto a coffee mug and apply Rub N Buff for a pop of color.  

Floating Frames: Glass Etching with Sheryll Kidder

Class Description: Float frames are awesome for decorating your home or to give as gifts. Learn all the techniques needed to turn an ordinary float frame into a beautiful etched home decor piece.  Students will apply a vinyl template to the frame glass, apply the etching cream, clean the surface and apply Rub N Buff for a pop of color.  This class is for all skill levels

Chalk Paste Creations 1 Hour with Sheryll Kidder

Class Description: Chalk Paste is newest and quickest way to create a great chalkboard with Chalk Ology Chalk Paste.  In this class you will apply a vinyl or adhesive template to a chalkboard and apply the chalk past to the design and distribute evenly with a craft stick. Wait only a few seconds to remove the temple and the design is complete.  You will  complete a design on each side of your chalkboard.

Beached Wood Work 1 Hour with Sheryll Kidder

Class Description:  Learn the quickest technique in distressed painting applying organic paint products to a piece of unfinished wood to achieve a beach or vintage look. The paint sands easily to reveal a soft, worn look. Easily blend away mistakes and imperfections such as drips, hair, fingerprints, and more. It's unique design is perfect for both beginners and experts to yield professional looks.

Giant Flowers 1 Hour with Lori Huhn

Class Description: Are you fascinated by the giant flowers that everyone is making? They are surely the craze right now. Have you wondered how to make them yourself? Then this is the class for you. We will be learning the techniques to create a giant 2 ft flower. You will learn tips from an expert in giant flower construction. You will leave with a giant flower.

Paper Flower Bouquet 2 Hours with Lori Huhn

Class Description: You will be learning 5 unique flowers that will allow you to create beautiful projects for years to come.

Off the Mat 1 Hour with Lori Huhn

Class Description: We will be learning the technique on design space to create a giant character.

Metal Etching 2 Hours with Christine Sharry

Class Description:

In this class you will be learning how to use an engraving bit with your Cricut to create a design on an aluminum bracelet blank and then form it into a bracelet. **Including tricks for aligning the design with the blank.

We will also be making a framed art piece out of a thin sheet of aluminum. This will be done with the Cricut and a Cricut scoring stylus.

If time permits there may be a few tricks up my sleeve for other projects.

Starting a Business 2 Hours with Denise Spanos

Slice, Dice, and Weld with Your Cricut 1 Hour with Shirley Ross

Class Description: Do you love creating new things from what you already have?  In this class you will learn to create overlays and more using FREE and already existing images.  Learn to precisely place images together X and Y axis, the arrange and align features of Design Space.  You will never look at an image in the same way after this class.

Class Description: What is your target market? If that sounds like gibberish to you and you are in business or want to start a business, you need this class. A target market is the ideal customer of your business described by looking at its demographics and psychographics. In class we will discuss the characteristics of a target market and we will then work on defining our own target markets. We will look at questions to consider as you dig deeper to fully define your target market and find your marketing niche. Using these target markets, we will talk about how to reach out to your target market in the most appropriate ways. We will develop a plan for content for your social media posts that you can complete after class. I'll be providing email follow ups for you to contact me during the week after class so you complete your plan of attack.
